Long Beach CA – Those looking for the latest “cycle chic” ready-for-anything apparel and bike friendly stories for May’s National Bike Month need to turn their focus to Long Beach and Women On BikesSoCal. This week the non profit initiative released the first "must see" promo images on their website for their upcoming September 13, 2012 “Cycle Chic: Past, Present & Future...A Celebration of Dressing for the Destination” urban bike fashion show here: http://www.womenonbikessocal.org/media-room/.
The fun and flirty images feature hot new fall looks from two earth-friendly/bike-friendly Long Beach based fashion companies you need to know about - The Academy boutique and design salon and Yellow 108 sustainable hats and accessories - modeled by two of Long Beach’s most popular and photogenic young bicycle entrepreneurs; Joseph M. Bradley of The Pedaler Society and Nicole Maltz of The Bicycle Stand. These original images by photographer Allan Crawford for Women On Bikes SoCal can be found in web and print resoltion at the media room address listed above.
An initiative of the non-profit bicycle advocacy organization Bikeable Communities, WoBSoCal is an artful mix of bicycle advocacy + engaging fashion forward story telling. The organization recognizes the power of style to connect and empower, and its beguiling images and bold goals are catching the media's attention. Concerned with the rising tide of sedentary diseases, congestion, gas prices and those in need of safe and healthy transportation options, the goal of Women On Bikes SoCal (WoBSoCal) is to double the number of women and girls actively riding bikes in the Southern California region over the next five years. The organization recognizes the power of style to connect and empower, and its beguiling images and bold goals are catching the media's attention. Already featured in bicycling advocacy blogs around the country and a profile in May's upcoming Momentum Magazine, the new organization hopes to channel this interest into "fund"raising and "talent"raising for their “Let’s Double the Women” campaign.
